How to choose a Petsitter

How to choose a Petsitter I wrote about becoming a petsitter. It seems to me that not everyone wants to be. So, for those who do not want to "be" a petsitter, but could use the services of one, are now addressing this issue.     Obviously, a petsitter is a person of trust. If I rent a petsitter, I know that my computer, television and jewelry when there will be no retu. I want to know that my pet is safe with love and care. How do I know if the person I'm interviewing for jobs is what I want and to be trusted?     First, I have the person on the phone or in person. Ask for references. If the person has no references to petsitting, I ask the names and numbers of a few references. I do not expect that the person I'm talking to an expert or experts. Many people are not expert petsitters, it makes no sense to hold one or two masters petsitters in town to have the time to talk with me. I need someone NOW!     So I request references. Wonder about the honesty, reliability and reliablilty. I would like to know if the person works and where they live. Let me know if they have their own animals. How can they talk to their friends for their pets? If the person that I know enough to conduct a conversation, listening to the way they talk about their pets. It is they who have problems with their pets? How to deal with these problems?     Reliability is important. I need to know that the person trying to enter my house to take care of my animals to feed them, love them, spend time with them and not do things that I do not want in my house. Are not, generally, a person staying with me while I am here. I want to know that the petsitter a house and go and will not be completed. I want to know what you live close enough that I'm not buying a tank of gas, which I do not need to buy. If I need water for the plants, I need to know if he is able to manage, or if they have a brown thumb. I hate to lose a prize of cactus, because it was too wet or a beautiful fe die and disappear from lack of water. I do not want to fertilization, while I am here. I prefer to do it myself. If I have a garden, there is no need to water every day? How long will this take? Although I am willing to pay? The meals (read - before you fill the refrigerator, I have again when I get back)? I am willing to trust this person does not bring home the foreigners? This is a real configuration, if there ever was one!     Only now are ready to discuss payment. The pay-per-day. Negotiations to obtain the best rate, but we want to make sure petsitter is my satisfaction with the price too. Could lead to a lack of attention and bad programming, resentment and a petsitter that it is not the next time I need someone. Pay only fair play!     If I will not be available for more than a week, I prefer cats to board my dog confidence. It no longer makes sense and works well for me. Choosing a kennel of three criteria: the reference staff, cleaning and meeting participants.     I've always been a point of reference for a cage. I during a visit slow time of the week and watch more. I am sure that for a long weekend, will be much more chaotic, and so that the participants do not have time to do me a tour and answer all my questions in a very busy. So, when my visit is relatively slow. Since I have cats, ask to see the cat in the cage.     Are clean. Waiting areas (not always the cages, but at times), are used by animals, so I am going to the places and things that can cause risk to my animals. Sharp objects that kept things do not have any apparent reason for being there, etc. I also look at the things that my cats can climb and check to see if windows can see looking at my cats aisles and places in the world. I'm trying Cubby holes if my cats feel safe. I am looking for sweet things. Check the temperature, because if it is cold for me, it will be for my cats. The smell of the area to see if I can smell of urine or chemicals. I do not want a perfume, or assail me when I go back to my cat. Checks to see how the other cats (if any) are supported. Bedding clean? The food is spoiled or old? The walls and floor around the dish, as we could use a good cleaning?     Finally, I spoke with the public. I hear how they talk about care for the animals. I listen to their attitudes toward their work and livestock in general. You can lea a lot from what is not said as what it is. I ask them if they have their own pets. Courses are cleaning. Yes, it's important. If a person who operates an animal sick and not wash their hands, the disease can spread to other animals.     I hope this helps. The cage is used Ravenwood Kennels in Halls, TN. The owner, Cheri is knowedgeable Roop, a goat running out to visit the kennel and is clean. It 'very nice and tries to make the domestic cat as possible while keeping the cat out. I trust Beasley and his princess. You know personally my veterinarian, is known to some members of my church. You can contact her at 865-922-9641.     Get references. Call and visit.
