HOW TO TEACH THE afar

HOW TO TEACH THE afar Hello Adam. First of all, thank you very much for the fantastic information in the book! Wow! Has the training of our new dog so much easier than I expected! I live on a small farm in Victoria in Australia and are currently undergoing training for our new dog "Toby" (a Border Collie). I think we can have an advantage because he is very intelligent and gentle - natural, but the techniques for his editorial work, and I have found have little to do in an environment of healthy working relationship with him. However, I was always frustrated with people that I try to explain why it was so well behaved and happy, and so on. . .. etc., if they think I am some sort of dog Basher? The comments were 'It is a beautiful dog is well behaved, but I have heard of your technical training (with a negative pitch). "I don? t understand why people? t, which in this way, you can create a problem in minutes and with only one or two corrections not months or years yell to the dog for the same problem with monotonous contradiction! (What you don? Know that T is a correction for Toby doesn? T need a lot of motivational programs) At least the dog knows it! He is happy - well educated - he can be secure without having to worry about disasters. E 'calm and confident-house training - has SIT / down (and stays down) / paw / scan / arch / find / and from as far as you can hear me (and yet + I? T tried the other ). He is probably our horse, if the work, like him to restrict the arena and will remain down, if needed elsewhere. And he is only five months old! E 'quasi magia! Now the question. I have to do with one, as the basic principles seem to solve almost everything. Want to know a good way to teach a distance and back, or go left or right, in a controlled manner (dog type things really work). I don? T know if that makes sense and sounds unusual, but it would be very useful for the farm as well as fun and interesting for me and for him (as he seems to do!) I hope you can help me, how do I find a good way to do this? I would have preferred not to use the sheep to teach, as I fear it could then feel the need, sheep or ducks or what in other times. Perhaps it is not? T is a problem in any case, when it can not be? t misbehave. I do not want to create a temptation, though? (Besides I don? T know what to do with training in the workplace and still wouldn? T how things!) All proposals that would be much appreciated. Unfortunately, this is so long, but I am really excited! - Oliver. Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, Australia. Dear Mr. Oliver: Insert a disc with a cookie on it, in the distance. (B). Start a number, with the dog, and a broad movement of the hand, point to the plate and say, get out. Your dog runs in the direction you point to the plate. Gradually move the plate away. Then you find a flat hill, and the plate on the top of the hill. The point, and not the same things as described above. Once? Ve done so consistently for a few days, start placing the plate? Behind the horizon? But the dog you see. Then again (after a couple of days of success), but not? let the dog see the plaque. Repeat in a variety of situations, always with the same command.
